One of the most uncertain factors in the construction budget are the earthworks and foundation works:

  • How much soil will need to be drained or supplied?
  • Does the subsoil have the required bearing capacity?
  • Do we need to lime the subsoil?
  • What type of foundation is needed based on the condition of the subsoil?
  • Do we need deep foundations? If so, what type of foundation for this particular project?
  • What is the impact of these decisions on span structures?
